“True belonging is a spiritual practice, and it’s about the ability to find sacredness in both being a part of something but also the courage to stand alone”. -Brené Brown

I have often experienced the feeling of NOT belonging. I thought that belonging was being part of a particular group, where we are all similar. But then I would sometimes notice the authentic parts of me slipping away to conform. When I have space to reflect and get in touch with who I am, I am able to dig down and come from a place of authenticity. I may not be like those around me in many ways. We may disagree, think differently, or have varying interests, and that is OK.That is because I have learned that true belonging is belonging to ME first and foremost.

So the question then is: how do I belong to me? How do I turn down the volume of the noise of other people’s thoughts, opinions, and what is happening in the world to get in touch with myself? This is where meditation comes in, as it helps us to get in touch with our authentic self. This is why I am so passionate sharing meditation and making it accessible to everyone.
